When The Villages Pre-School first opened I never imagined the laughs, the smiles and the achievements that it would have brought to so many children, families and practitioners. Now 10 years old, we are branching out from our settings around Bingley (first setting in Eldwick, then second in East Morton), to Burley in Wharfedale and I am so excited by this opportunity!
Seeing children grow, adapt, learn new skills, socialise and increase in confidence are the main reasons why I love being an Early Years Teacher – every day is different! Even 10 years later I love to learn about new approaches (such as In The Moment Planning), to implement new ways of recording observations (such as our new on-line tracking system, EY Log), assess and improve practice through practitioner training (e.g. early phonics, maths ideas, superhero ideas, the list goes on and on!). I keep involved with government initiatives (being on the Bradford Council’s project board for the 30 hours extended entitlement) and ensure safeguarding remains a key priority. The Villages Pre-school is my passion and I strive to keep reviewing practice to ensure we deliver the best early years education possible, to our children and families.
Please do get in touch if you would like more information about anything from healthy eating, support for low-income families or you’d just like an informal chat – my door (or mobile phone!) is always open...
Best wishes, Jane
